Why are geomagnetic latitude and longitude different than geographic latitude & longitude? PDF Print E-mail

The earths magnetic poles are not at the north and south geographic poles. Therefore, geomagnetic latitude & longitude and the geomagnetic equator differ from the corresponding geographic values. The earth's magnetic poles tend to wander slowly and thus the gweomagnetic latitude, longitude and equator will vary slowly over time.
